Is it unprofessional to use Canva?
Many professional designers believe Canva to be a tool for hobbyists and non-designers that need a quick design every now and then. Because of this, it is considered unprofessional for a designer to use Canva.
With so many other (free) options available, there are better options for you to work with. For example, most designers today work with Adobe XD, Sketch, or Figma.
Can I use Canva for UX design?
Yes, you can use Canva for UX and UI design. However, it is not the primary goal of Canva, and because of that, it lacks certain essential features that Figma and other professional design tools have.
Another thing to remember is that even though you can use Canva, many other designers, clients, and employers do not. If you're proficient using Canva but nothing else, that might hurt your chances on the job market as most job openings require you to know Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch.
Is Canva similar to Figma?
Canva is similar to Figma in the sense that both are design tools. You can use both to create logos, flyers, and social media content.
The main difference, however, is that Figma is a professional tool used by most designers today. Its primary focus is on UI and UX design, which is only a small part of Canva.
If you're a UI or UX designer, you can better learn to use Figma instead of Canva. However, go for Canva if designing is not your main job and you only need a design for something every now and then.
